Introduction to Research

I’ve been involved in research since 1996 when I got my first small grant, a summer student fellowship to study the links between lung cancer and other lung diseases at the Denver Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Since that time, I’ve explored numerous areas of research ranging from the clinical benefits of acupuncture to the neurophysiology of free will. As I’ve matured as a researcher, I’ve become increasingly focused on pursuing projects that are likely to change practice and forward my mission of raising the standards of care for people living with serious illnesses.
